OFF CAMERA Jurors on the underground trail
The OFF CAMERA International Festival of Independent Cinema is now behind us. The festival competitions attracted many prominent guests from the film industry to Krakow. Some of them could be seen on the salt trail.
The Wieliczka mine was visited, among others, by members of the Main Competition and the Polish Feature Film Competition juries.
Visitors to the Tourist Route included Thomas Kretschmann, the German actor who played Captain Wilm Hosenfeld in Roman Polanski’s The Pianist, as well as Gina Gershon, the American actress known from such productions as Face/Off with Nicolas Cage and Driven, in which she starred with Sylvester Stallone.
The underground mine was also admired by Lucy Bevan, a casting director from London (her recent projects include the films Breathe, The Mercy and Murder on the Orient Express, directed by Kenneth Brannagh) as well as Geoff Andrew, writer, lecturer and programme curator of the BFI Southbank Festival and the London Film Festival, as well as member of multiple festival juries in Cannes, Venice, Istanbul, Turin and Cluj-Napoca.
Another visitor to the winding mine corridors was Ioana Uricaru, director of Lemonade, which was presented in the main competition.
