Before starting the tour, you can use the toilets, which are located right next to the Daniłowicz Shaft. Toilets are also available underground in two locations along the route.
Ashort rest is planned in the Drozdowice Chamber. You can buy cold and hot drinks and snacks there.A longer rest is planned in the Karczma Górnicza restaurant, where Polish and international cuisine is served.
After returning to the surface you can spend time in the restaurant of the Grand Sal**** Hotel.
You can visit the Tourist Route with children of all ages. Children under 4 years of age are admitted free of charge.
There are facilities underground for parents – a changing table and special chairs in Karczma Górnicza.
You can take a folding stroller with you, but because of the large number of stairs (approx. 800), a carrier or sling may be more practical.
You can leave the stroller in the storage room, which is located on the surface near the Daniłowicz Shaft. There is no place where a stroller can be left after the start of the tour.
For greater comfort of visitors, the chambers and galleries of the Tourist Route are well-lit.
All tourists leave the mine in the lift. The ride is included in the ticket price.

The Mine is a mining facility, which can be visited only under the supervision of a specially trained person. All guides have knowledge of first aid and OSH regulations in force in the Mine.
The guides know many stories, tales and even mysteries of the Wieliczka Mine, which they share with the visitors. Without the astonishing guide stories, the tour wouldn’t be as exciting.
Not everyone is aware that the underground corridors are about 245 km long and are often referred to as a salt labyrinth. That is why it is so important to move around the underground with someone who can find their way through the maze of underground shafts and galleries.

The Tourist Route is fully illuminated and equipped with emergency lighting, so there is no need for a lamp. For greater convenience of tourists, mining regulations concerning the wearing of helmets have been waived. Thanks to this, you can enjoy an underground walk without having to take mining equipment with you.
The underground air is characterised by exceptional bacteriological purity and high content of sodium chloride, as well as magnesium and calcium ions.
The salt microclimate supports the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract diseases, as well as asthma and allergies – that is why the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine Health Resort is located at a depth of 135 metres.
The tour does not require any special fitness, but it is worthwhile to realistically assess your capabilities. The tour takes about 2-3 hours and the route includes about 800 steps.

The maximum dimensions of hand luggage which can be brought on the tour is 35cm x 20cm x 20cm. Please leave your larger luggage in the storage room, which is located on the surface near the Daniłowicz Shaft.
Smoking and electronic cigarettes, as well as electric flashlights and open fires are strictly forbidden in the Mine. This is regulated by the provisions of geological and mining law.
When wandering through the Wieliczka underground, you can relax and get away from the world. Therefore, only a few chambers on the Tourist Route have mobile phone coverage, Wi-Fi service is also available there.
Bringing animals into the Mine is prohibited, with the exception of service animals.
The mine does not have a place where you can leave your pet.
