The Wieliczka mine has functioned continuously since the middle ages, what makes it one of the oldest companies in Poland and in Europe. The mine does not exploit salt any longer and is now only a site registered on the UNESCO List of Natural and Cultural Heritage, a well-known worldwide tourist attraction.

The activities of the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine have been well appreciated. The mine is valued for its various kinds of offered services, honoured by the European Medal, the title of the Ambassador of Polish Economy, and the ODYS award, as well as for its good practices in the area of safety (Organizer of Safe Work), environmental protection (Pantheon of Polish Ecology, Eco-Company) and its care for its employees (Reliable Employer,  A Well-Perceived Company).

The results of each plebiscite confirms that the historic monument in Wieliczka is one of the most important tourist attractions in Poland.
