As has become tradition, on the first weekend of the New Year, two absolutely exceptional concerts took place. 125 m below ground, we hosted excellent artists from the Krakow Opera.
This year’s Barbórka was celebrated by the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine miners on the 3rd of December. There was a solemn mass in St Kinga’s Chapel, as well as ceremony, during which distinguished employees of the Wieliczka mine were honoured.

The Wieliczka mine ended the last year with a record number of 1.7 million visitors. Will 2018 be better? The results for the first five months of the year show that this will indeed be the case. By the end of May, the historic underground was visited by 598,500 tourists, which is 46,600 more than in the corresponding period of 2017.
